Born in 1994 in Chihuahua, Mexico, Deber614 is a muralist whose practice serves as a contemporary extension of the Mexican Muralist tradition. His trajectory began at thirteen, defined by a dual immersion in the classical training of a traditional Atelier and the large-scale experimentation of the public wall. This formative balance allowed Deber to cultivate a visual language that honors technical precision, while embracing the democratic spirit of modern spray paint muralism.

Now based in Wichita, Kansas, Deber’s work functions as a site-specific dialogue between historical narrative and contemporary identity. His compositions, executed through layering of oils, acrylics, enamels, and aerosol serves to synthesize figurative realism with expressive abstraction. By reclaiming the monumental scale pioneered by figures like Siqueiros and Orozco, he transforms the urban landscape into an archive of the art making experience. His work is not just decorative; it is a calculated intervention intended to highlight the history of neglected or forgotten historical figures. In hopes to both beautify spaces, as well as correcting the historical records by increasing representation of important historical figures in our public art’s landscape.

As a Mexican immigrant, Deber views the public wall as a critical territory for representation. He rejects the compartmentalization of "fine art" and " low brow public art," instead utilizing his mastery of mixed media to bridge the gap between institutional prestige and community accessibility. Through "The Gaze of History" and his broader body of work, Deber continues to push the boundaries of the muralist lineage, ensuring that the stories of everyone are documented with the technical excellence and historical weight they demand.
